Cough Suppressant Uses Provides temporary relief of coughs due to minor throat irritation as may occur with common cold or inhaled irritants. Directions ADULTS: 1-2 teaspoonfuls every 4 hours, not to exceed 12 teaspoonfuls in 24 hours. CHILDREN: 6-12 years old: 1/2 to 1 teaspoonful every 4 hours, not to exceed 6 teaspoonfuls in 24 hours. For children under 6 years old, consult a doctor. Warnings A persistent cough may be a sign of a serious condition. If cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by high fever, rash or persistent headache, consult a physician. Do not take this product for persistent cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, and emphysema, or if cough is accompanied by excessive mucus unless directed by a doctor. SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING.
