Dressing Aids

Dressing aids are designed to assist patients with disabilities, and help them get dressed on their own. Patients suffering from mobility issues, back or leg injury, or arthritis may benefit from the use of handicap dressing aids. Medical supplies used as aids for dressing include long shoe horns and sock aids, to allow those unable to bend or reach their feet the help they need. Other aids for dressing include button and clasp devices and elastic shoelaces, both of which are helpful to those suffering from arthritis or other hand/wrist conditions. Dressing aids allow nursing home or assisted living patients to maintain some independence, and give them the help they need to get dressed. Medical supplies like compression stockings can be difficult for even able bodied patients to put on, so dressing aids can benefit those recovering from surgery or injury as well. Aids for dressing come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and it is possible to find the correct assistance for each individual need.
